Credit card fraud

Credit card fraud, a problem we take seriously, is a growing problem for online businesses and their customers. It is a terrible crime and bad for consumers and businesses alike. Customers who have their credit card information stolen are less likely to purchase online again. The more losses experienced due to fraud, the more those losses are passed on in the form of higher prices, interest rates and fees.

In the interest of protecting your credit card information, we do the following to ensure that our sites are as secure as possible:

  • We use SSL encryption on all of our websites. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web site and an Internet browser. For more information on SSL and how it works, please see the SSL.com website.

  • We do not store your credit card information, nor do our employees have access to such information at any point.

  • The credit card processing company we use employs advanced fraud detection technology and multiple security checks to protect against illegal use of your card.

  • All of our web sites are security certified by the following independent services:

domain name registration

Our security history

The national average for online credit card fraud is roughly 3.7%, but through diligent attention, we have kept ours to under 0.4% (about a tenth). In each case, we worked closely with the card owner's bank to provide vital information in tracking down the criminals and the funds were returned to the customer.

Our MIS team includes a retired police officer, who has direct experience with credit card fraud and identity theft. We have researched and confirmed each problem is not with our site or services, however, we continue to monitor site security on a regular basis.

Taking action

If you suspect that your credit card was used illegally on our website or after a purchase from our site, please contact your bank or credit card company immediately. Most credit card companies have toll-free numbers and 24-hour service to deal with these emergencies.

According to US law, once you have reported the loss or theft of your credit card, you have no more responsibility for unauthorized charges. Further, your maximum liability under federal US law is $50 per credit card and many credit card issuers will even waive that fee for good customers.

Also, please contact us as soon as possible. We will be available to speak to you in person and are more than willing to provide any information we can to your bank regarding the issue. Please see our company contact page for options:

As always, please be careful with your credit card information and always check your bills for fraudulent charges.
